The 2025.10 release of Sirius Web focuses on refining the experience, fixing glitches, improving interactions, and giving you more control over how diagrams look and behave.
With the highest number of commits ever for a single release, our team worked hard to address your feedback and polish every detail of the interface.
Here’s what’s new.
Define your edge style
You can now define the edge type in the view DSL, through the edge appearance section.
Three types are available:
- Manhattan (default): keeps the edge rectilinear, with bending points to adjust layout precisely.
- SmartManhattan: routes edges around other nodes to avoid overlaps.
- Oblique: draws a clean, straight line between source and target.
Appearance customization extended to edges and all node types
In 2025.8.0 Sirius Web introduced a tool to customize the appearance of rectangular nodes.
As promised, this release extends that feature to edges and all remaining node types.
Custom node appearance is also supported through extension points, check the changelog for more technical details and examples.
Better label management
You can now move edges labels and external node labels directly on the diagram and hide them if needed.
We’re also planning to introduce a pin label option soon to lock their position.
Improved feedback when dropping a node
When dropping a node onto a diagram, its position is now centered on the cursor, making placement more intuitive and precise.
This video below shows how it was managed before this release.
And you can see below how it is managed now.
Selection rework for smoother navigation
We’ve removed the automatic synchronisation of selection between open views, giving you the choice to decide how linked views behave.
The Details view can either:
- stay synchronized with the last selected element (default)
- or remain independent from it.
You can also push a selected element from one view to another manually.
This change gives you better control and makes exploring complex models smoother.
Workbench views, more flexible layouts
Multiple views can now be displayed simultaneously in the left or right workbench panels.
This makes it easier to compare information, or work across different contexts without losing focus.
What we’re working on
Looking ahead, we’re focusing on:
- Expanding undo/redo support to cover more graphical changes (some appearance edits are already included).
- Adding new extension points to the palette for more complex and customizable tools.
- Continuing to fix UI glitches and refine the user experience on your ongoging feedback.
The Docker image is available on Docker Hub, and the full release changelog can be found here.
Thank you for your continued support, every improvement in Sirius Web is shaped by your feedback and ideas.
