Sirius Web 2026.1: Further UX Improvements

This release continues our focus on optimizing the Sirius Web user experience.

It introduces several improvements to modeling workflow efficiency, cross-project search capabilities, and more precise control over diagram representations.

Improving Productivity with Bulk Actions

Handling large-scale models requires efficiency.

We’ve introduced new batch operations that reduce the number of clicks required to modify your data.

Batch Tool Execution

You can now trigger tools across multiple elements simultaneously.

By selecting several objects on a diagram, the applicable tools are executed for the entire selection.

This update includes the ability to define group palettes via the View DSL.

Multi-Selection Style Editing

Visual consistency is now faster to achieve.

When multiple elements are selected, you can modify their node styles (colors, font, border type, etc.) in a single action, rather than editing each item individually.

"Expand All" for Tables

Navigating complex hierarchies is now simpler.

A new "Expand All" action has been added to tables, allowing you to reveal all rows and nested data with a single click.

Smarter Navigation in the Omnibox

Just as numerous software, Sirius Web proposes an Omnibox to quickly search or execute commands.

In this new release, we’ve made it more powerful by adding two new features.

Cross-Project Queries & ElasticSearch

We’ve added a powerful new command that enables you to search for objects across all your projects simultaneously.

For advanced users, this feature supports Elastic queries. You can now use wildcards, regex, and fuzzy matching to find specific objects such as, for instance, searching for every object that shares a particular attribute value throughout your entire Sirius Web instance.

Note: This feature requires Sirius Web to be integrated with ElasticSearch.

Check out this "how to" page to see how to integrate them.

Search History

Speed up your navigation by quickly returning to recent items.

The Omnibox now displays your search history, making it effortless to toggle between frequently accessed elements within a project.

UI & UX Refinements

We continue to refine the environment’s ergonomics to ensure the interface facilitates, rather than hinders, the direct manipulation of models.

Compact Layout

To maximize screen real estate, we’ve introduced the “Compact Layout”.

This option minimizes white space in your diagram representations, allowing for a higher density of information without losing clarity.

Bending Points for Oblique Edges

Managing edge trajectories is essential for resolving routing conflicts and avoiding overlapping elements in high-density diagrams.

We have extended support for bending points to oblique edges, giving you full manual control over the routing of diagonal connections.

Project Creation Unification

In the last release, we started to rework the project creation process, notably by adding the capability to select libraries.

We continued this effort in this iteration by unifying all templates to use the same creation page.

Users can also now directly change the template they want to use from this page.

Minimap Visibility Control

While the minimap provides essential spatial orientation for large-scale diagrams, it can obstruct the representation on smaller displays or high-density layouts.

For that, we have introduced a toggle in the diagram palette, allowing users to show or hide the minimap as needed.

Explorer View Filtering

We have added filtering for the Explorer View.

While this functionality was previously accessible via keyboard shortcuts, the Explorer toolbar now features a dedicated button to activate the filtering mode.

Looking Ahead

This release provides more practical ways to manage large-scale models by introducing batch operations and advanced search capabilities.

These updates are designed to reduce repetitive manual tasks and provide the fine-grained control necessary to maintain complex diagrams effectively.

As always, we value the community feedback that helps us refine these features, and we look forward to further expanding the Sirius Web toolkit in upcoming iterations.

The complete list of updates and bug fixes is available in the changelog.
