A Smoother Modeling Experience
Editing diagrams is now more intuitive with the contextual menu appearing on right-click instead of left-click, making modifications easier. This small yet impactful change makes accessing diagram tools more natural and efficient.
Additionally, you can now move semantic elements directly using drag-and-drop in the Explorer view. This greatly improves the flexibility of model structuring.
Navigating diagrams has also been enhanced with the introduction of a minimap. This feature provides a quick overview of the entire diagram, allowing users to locate and navigate specific areas with ease.
More Control Over Your Models
SysON now supports undo/redo functionality for semantic changes in both the Explorer and Details views. Simply use CTRL + Z
to undo and CTRL + Y
to redo. While this feature is not yet available for diagram layout changes, it’s a major step toward more flexible modeling.
For those working with model queries, SysON now integrates a Query view. This allows users to write queries and retrieve model information efficiently, leveraging the power of AQL for in-depth model analysis.
Enhanced Compliance and Model Traceability
SysON continues to improve traceability and compliance with the latest SysML v2 standards.
The Concern Definition and Concern Usage features now provide better tracking of system concerns, while Stakeholders related to Concern Definition, Concern Usage, Requirement Definition, and Requirement Usage can be displayed directly in the General View diagram. This enhances visibility into dependencies and relationships within the model.
To ensure full alignment with industry standards, SysON’s metamodel now fully conforms to the SysML v2 and KerML Beta 2.3 specifications released in December 2024.
Additionally, SysON now implements validation rules and constraints from the SysML v2 specification, helping users ensure their models remain consistent and compliant.
Enhanced Diagram Export
SysON now supports exporting diagrams in PNG format, in addition to SVG, making it easier to share and integrate visuals into reports.
Diagrams Improvements
Several refinements have been made to the General View diagram, including the ability to resize Package and Namespace Import nodes to smaller dimensions.
Additionally, multiplicity is no longer displayed on links, ensuring compliance with the SysML v2 specification.
Fixes
This release also brings key stability fixes, addressing issues such as:
- Improved handling of date fields to prevent server crashes during successive REST API calls.
- Corrected default element names to avoid conflicts with SysML v2 keywords.
- Fixed errors when downloading standard libraries.
- Resolved incorrect duplication of feature typing in Port Usage labels.
- Proper display of default and initial properties (
isDefault
andisInitial
) in the Core tab of the Details view.
These fixes contribute to a smoother and more reliable modeling experience.
This release brings significant improvements to the SysON experience, making SysML v2 modeling more powerful, compliant, and user-friendly. Don’t wait—download the latest version and explore these new features today!
